I am an integrative veterinarian offering house call services for acupuncture and traditional Chinese veterinary medicine for dogs, cats, and horses on the Treasure Coast.

I am a proud Midwestern farm girl! My family was descended from pioneers that came and settled in northeast Nebraska. They were a group of self-determined, bold, and visionary people in search of a better life. I graduated with honors from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln (third generation Cornhusker!) with a degree in Animal Science. Prior to veterinary school, I spent a year in Kentucky working at a commercial Thoroughbred breeding farm and at a world-class veterinary hospital in the neonatal ICU. I attended Iowa State College of Veterinary Medicine and post-graduation did an equine internship in Ocala, Florida. I have experience working as an equine practitioner at various racetracks and in emergency medicine and small animal general practice.

I became interested in acupuncture when I had an injury to my leg that caused nerve damage to my left foot. The doctor told me that I may not be able to walk normally for six months to a year. Subsequently, I met an acupuncturist and upon a course of treatments, I recovered function in six weeks. Having had the opportunity to go to China while in vet school, I learned more about this amazing modality and spent time in Beijing learning about traditional Chinese veterinary medicine. I became certified in veterinary acupuncture at the Chi Institute for both small and large animals. I have spent the last two years honing my acupuncture skills at a rehab facility.

It is time, like my pioneer ancestors, to go boldly into the future and utilize my knowledge and experience to help your animal live its best life. Acupuncture is a way to promote health and balance in the body. As my acupuncturist has told me, “Don’t wait until you are injured or unwell, do it for your health”. How can I help?
